Welcome to the new HEDIR. Note that the HEDIR now consists of a number of items:
- The HEDIR Discussion: the long standing foundation of the HEDIR. This is an opportunity to discuss, debate, share, and request information. It’s often a free-for-all and it is often intense…but it’s a GREAT way to find out the pulse of what’s happening in the profession. Besides the HEDIR Discussion the HEDIR.org page now has:
- A directory of members
- A blog in which individuals can post and respond to thoughts written by Mark Kittleson and others
- A listing of HEDIR endorsed jobs
- Connections to various HEDIR related items such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
A few things to remember:
1) To participate in the HEDIR, you must REGISTER with the HEDIR.org page. Make this registration professional…use your professional name, email, photo, etc. If you haven’t registered for the HEDIR.org page, click the create account link at top. To see the process, watch this video.
2) To access member directory, one must not only be registered with HEDIR.org, but they also must be logged in. The former HEDIR directory was too vulnerable to spammers. By controlling only those who are registered one can be assured that your material will not be easily available to spammers (can’t say never because those spammers are crafty devils).
3) To register for the HEDIR Discussion, first, do number 1 above, and then complete the information below. Watch this video.
Enjoy the fruits of the labor that the health education profession has undergone over the past 20 years. Invite other health education professionals (from all work settings), as well as your health education students to join the HEDIR.
