The political dream

As many of you know I love politics.  In fact there are a couple of things I think would be really neat to accomplish in my life.

a) Make a million dollars, b) Attain a power position in government

And now I have a clear understanding of how to achieve that ideal… Just 3 simple things I need to do.

1) Change my party affiliation to Democrat

2) Make it known that I would like to have a powerful position in Washington and ask my friends to tell people I am the best person for the job.

3) Quit paying taxes!

    Tyler,

Failure to pay taxes on the part of a politician is not limited to one party. There are ample examples historically of members of both parties to political posts who have failed to pay taxes. Daschle is merely the latest example. BTW, I do not believe Gaither is a registered Democrat.

Bill, This is a parody post… I was simply pointing out the negative trend of the last 3 appointments. I know that there has been a HUGE fleecing of America when it comes to all politicians… But then again Obama ran on a reform and ethics platform…….

    Tyler,

Your parody works, except for indicating the need to register as a Democrat. I admit the inadequate vetting of nominees with previously unpaid taxes is embarassing, but it does not negate the goal of government reform and improving on the ethics of the previous administration.

Speaking of fleecing…..I think the banks are the ones we should really be focusing on considering how much money we just gave them as tax payers. Our last faculty "retreat" included Subway wraps–not anything close to Vegas ;-) Okay, enough of the soapbox for now.
Let's chat now about who we think should be appointed in place of Daschle.
